Competition #1 – Friday 10 October

Hi everyone,

So great to see not only some of our athletes at the first training of the season today, but a bit of spring weather too! Welcome to our new families, we ‘re looking forward to getting to know you. A few special start-of-season details and reminders below for everyone, so please have a read:

==  Registration/Bibs

Please arrive as early as possible to avoid long lines. We will have three desks from 5pm:

•  Trial members: Will need to register on arrival and have a printed bib (either bring with you or we’ll have spares)

•  New, fully registered members: Available for pick up (and proof of age sighting if required).

•   Returning members: Bibs will be sorted by age and available for athletes to find their own.

== Program:

Our first week program will include an opening welcome from our President, Heath, and recognition for our 2025 Cross-Country participants. Our athletes will then move to warm up and three rotations to ensure we can finish by 7:30. As soon as your athletes finish their last event, they’re welcome to leave for the evening.
The program for Friday is below:

== Uniforms: Will be available for purchase inside the clubhouse from 5pm.  Only the t-shirt ($15) is required, along with black shorts you can purchase anywhere.  T-shirt is the same as last year, so keep it if it still fits!  Trial members don’t need a uniform.

== Reminder:

The first few weeks of the year are always the busiest with lots of kids excited to be back, new families and athletes getting to know the process. Please be patient, help out your fellow athletes, and lend a hand if you see anyone needs support.

== Parent Volunteering:

We’ve made a change to the process this year, and will have one of our coaches on every event to ensure there is an experienced hand to help both athletes and parent volunteers. We can’t run the events till we have enough volunteers, so please help out – it’s as simple as measuring a throw, entering results in the ipad or lining kids up at the start line. No knowledge of the event is needed.

== Regular Reminders:

•   At least one parent / guardian will need to remain for the whole event

•  No dogs at Little Athletic Victoria events please, unless they are service dogs.

•  Please park according to council parking restrictions – there is plenty of additional street parking across Heidelberg road on The Esplanade and Dwyer St in Clifton Hill, and two sets of lights for safe crossing.

•  Please remember to look after your bibs! They don’t wash very well 😉

Thanks for your support as we get the season underway. Looking forward to a fantastic year ahead!
